As many of you know, Beth Moore is my new best friend. As such, she has willingly agreed to let me use her brilliant Scripture Memory Method that has been so successful in her ministry. When I asked her whether I can blatantly plagiarize her idea for Scripture Memory, her exact response was: “Do it. I believe God loves it!”
So without further ado, let me introduce you to the rules of our Scripture Memory Team.
On the 1st and 15th of every month starting September 15, 2011, you will find a post on my blog www.livingwithpower.org where I will ask for your memory verse and give you mine. We will do this 17 times through the end of May.
- You are to enter the verse you’ve chosen to memorize for that 2-week period within 24 hours of the post going up.
- When you clock in with your verse 2 times a month, keep your comments limited to your name, location, verse, and translation. Here is a sample comment: Lina from Mount Prospect: “I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13 ESV
- Choose a verse that means something to you in your present season or circumstance. Try to refrain from memorizing scripture you think your spouse or your children need to learn. Memorize what you need to learn.
- Stick with only 1 verse to memorize each time. Keep it simple and meaningful.
- Write the verse by hand in your own spiral notebook or 3x5 card system or purchase a beautiful scripture memory pack from Women’s Ministry. Call 847.398.7005 Ext. 1133.
- Review your verses with your Small Group regularly.
Here’s how to qualify for the Scripture Memory Team Celebration in June 2012:
- Clock in by first name and location at least 15 out of 17 times.
- Bring your Scripture Memory cards to the celebration.
- Be prepared to say any 10 of 17 memory verses to another RM Gal.
- Register for the event when it is announced.
