How to Decipher a Job Description Workshop

*Required – bring 2 job descriptions that you are interest in pursuing
The first step in all job searches is to read the job description and/or posting.
Sounds simple, but at times you find it mysterious or even confusing.
There are many reasons, some are:
1. Written in very general ways for a number of comparable jobs.
2. "Wish list"- everything about job included and candidate thrown in.
3. Focused on expected results, others word not mentioned.
4. Cannot identify real message because it has been softened extensively
due to legal concerns.
The good news is that almost every job description, at its core, can be mined
by following the three HOW STEPS:
1. Extract critical information.
2. Match information to your profile
3. Analyze the 5 key make/break elements of job
Bring two job descriptions that you are/have been interested in for this hands-on workshop.

. Enter through the doors located between the bookstore and the chapel
. Once inside turn right and walk towards the coffee shop
. Go left at the second hallway following the coffee shop
. Proceed to room 133E on the right-side of the hallway
. Relax; grab a cup of coffee, and a bite to eat once inside the room!
